Radisson Grows Its Portfolio of Independent and Lifestyle Brands Across Europe

Radisson Hotel Group Expands in the UK and Spain

Radisson Hotel Group has made significant strides by opening the Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa in Shrewsbury, UK, a new member of Radisson Individuals, while also signing a new Radisson Collection property set to debut in Madrid.

Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa Overview

Nestled just an hour away from central Birmingham, Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa features 87 beautifully appointed guest rooms along with a variety of fine dining options, including à la carte, bar selections, and afternoon tea. The hotel also offers extensive meeting and event spaces, a spa, and a state-of-the-art fitness suite.

Management Insights

Focus Hotels manages the property and its CEO, Devin Grosse, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration:

Peter Cashman, owner of Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa, also shared his excitement:

Future Developments in Madrid

The Radisson Collection brand is set to make its debut in Madrid with a hotel opening planned in the Alcalá 21 building, expected to welcome guests in 2027.

Project Details

This redevelopment will be a collaborative effort with Lamela architecture studio, transforming the site into a mixed-use property. It will feature retail spaces at ground level and 154 guest rooms and suites across ten floors. A first-floor restaurant and bar, a rooftop restaurant and bar, as well as a wellness center with a spa and gym are among the planned amenities.

Corporate Perspectives

Federico J. González, Executive Vice Chairman of Radisson Hotel Group, indicated the importance of this project:

“With a spectacular location, the arrival of our lifestyle luxury Radisson Collection brand in Madrid will be a catalyst to accelerate the development of Radisson Hotel Group in Spain, where we currently have eight hotels in operation and now this landmark project under development, as well as some others that we will announce soon. We are proud to debut this project alongside Generali, a strategic partner of the group with whom we have already collaborated in Rome and Venice. This will be an iconic hotel in Madrid and a privileged destination for both local and international guests.”

Benedetto Giustiniani, head of the Southern Europe region at Generali Real Estate, highlighted the significance of the project for their growth:

“The transformation of the iconic Alcalá 21 building into a Radisson Collection hotel represents another important step in our ongoing growth as investors in the European hospitality sector, with an incredible asset that enriches Generali’s hotel property portfolio. We believe this is a great time to continue investing in Madrid, where we manage a high-quality real estate portfolio and, through our projects, contribute to the sustainable urban development of the city.”
