Kimpton Fitzroy London Unveils Christmas Campaign to Support Coram and Highlight the Stories of Young Care Leavers

Kimpton Fitzroy London Launches ‘Never Wanted To Leave’ Christmas Campaign

Today, Kimpton Fitzroy London has revealed its Christmas initiative titled ‘Never Wanted To Leave’, in partnership with Coram, the UK’s oldest children’s charity. This unique campaign revolves around a creatively reimagined hotel guestbook, showcasing impactful entries from individuals of various ages who have emerged from the care system.

Annually, approximately 12,000 young people transition out of the UK care system upon reaching 18. This significant milestone oftentimes signals the start of a daunting journey into adulthood, typically accompanied by challenges that many others may not face due to lacking essential support systems.

With a heartfelt aim to create positive change this Christmas, Kimpton Fitzroy London has designed this campaign to amplify awareness and support Coram’s extensive initiatives for these vulnerable young individuals. Consequently, ‘Never Wanted To Leave’ will be available at the Bloomsbury-based hotel starting from 19th November.

Central to this initiative is the ‘Never Wanted To Leave’ guestbook, which takes the traditional hotel guestbook concept to a deeper level. Each page is designed to reflect a genuine entry from a hotel guest, yet contains firsthand narratives from young individuals who have recently transitioned out of the care system, featuring direct excerpts from the children’s rights organization, Coram Voice. Notably, the guestbook is introduced with a foreword by actor and Coram Champion for Children, Peter Capaldi, who expresses hope that “these powerful stories move you to support Coram’s work in helping more children this Christmas.”

Guests and visitors to Kimpton Fitzroy London are encouraged to sign the guestbook and share messages of support for Coram and the young individuals it assists. As a gesture of goodwill, they can contribute a donation of their choice by purchasing a beautifully crafted Christmas bauble for £25, with all proceeds going directly to Coram.

Garreth Walsh, General Manager at Kimpton Fitzroy London, stated, “Partnering with Coram holds special significance for us, given our shared roots in the heart of Bloomsbury. This campaign enriches our Christmas celebrations and invites our guests to engage with a cause deeply connected to our community. ‘Never Wanted To Leave’ allows us to share these impactful stories and support Coram’s invaluable mission.”

‘Never Wanted To Leave’ is an integral part of Kimpton Fitzroy London’s broader Christmas festivities, transforming the hotel into a welcoming space that not only honors the festive season but also contributes to the needs of the community. Through this collaboration, the hotel and its visitors can play a role in helping Coram to continue its vital work, providing care and support for young individuals as they transition into adulthood.
