On Thursday, November 14th, Catalyst, The Thrash Group, and The 1559 Collective, in collaboration with Tandem Hospitality Group, held an official groundbreaking ceremony for Hotel Tristan, the first upscale full-service boutique hotel in Downtown Pensacola’s East Garden District.
Chad Henderson, Founder and CEO of Catalyst Real Estate, was accompanied by notable partners Joseph and Ike Thrash from The Thrash Group, along with Tom Hemer from Tandem Hospitality. The ceremony was also attended by key local figures including Mayor D.C. Reeves and Nicole Stacy, Vice President of Destination Development at Visit Pensacola, as they celebrated the commencement of construction at the hotel’s site located at the intersection of Chase and Jefferson Streets.
Scheduled to open in late 2026, Hotel Tristan will boast 122 elegantly designed rooms, a fitness center, and various adaptable meeting and event spaces. Guests can look forward to a rooftop bar with breathtaking views, offering a selection of bites and crafted cocktails—the first of its kind in Downtown Pensacola—as well as an on-site restaurant featuring an eclectic menu of Mediterranean cuisine.
Embodying the rich history of Pensacola, particularly the legacy of Spanish explorer Tristan de Luna, who first arrived in 1559, Hotel Tristan will seamlessly blend timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication, paying homage to the past while introducing something novel and exciting for the community.
Chad Henderson’s contributions have significantly enhanced the growth of Downtown Pensacola, with previous initiatives including a $2.2 million road beautification project in collaboration with the City of Pensacola, renovations of 42 E. Garden Street (The Well) and 18 E. Garden Street (Papa’s Pizza), as well as the $2.5 million construction relocation of Union Public House at the junction of Garden and Jefferson Streets. The introduction of Hotel Tristan represents the next phase in the ongoing revitalization of the area.
