Driftwood Hospitality Management (DHM), a third-party hotel management firm, has announced the promotion of three key members within its leadership team: Bryan Postema has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, Michael Buddemeyer has become Vice President of Operations for Focus Service, and Michael Diaz has advanced to Chief Strategy Officer.
“The well-deserved promotions of Bryan Postema, Michael Buddemeyer, and Michael Diaz exemplify our dedication to evolving and driving growth within the company, particularly as the industry moves toward distinctive lifestyle experiences,” stated David Buddemeyer, founder and president of Driftwood Hospitality Management. “By promoting from within, we acknowledge their expertise and outstanding leadership qualities that align with our strategic goals and core values.”
In his new role, Postema will supervise all hotel operations for the company’s portfolio of over 80 properties, ensuring guest satisfaction, reaching financial targets, and upholding brand standards. He previously held the position of Managing Director at Driftwood Capital Assets. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector, he has been pivotal in the success of DHM’s full-service, resort & lifestyle, select-service, and special assets divisions.
“In a rapidly changing hospitality environment, it’s vital to lead and set the bar for remarkable and unique guest experiences,” Postema remarked. “The organizational structure being established at DHM through our ongoing expansion and specialization positions us for success and enables us to consistently exceed and elevate guest expectations.”
Buddemeyer, in his new capacity, will spearhead strategy and operational initiatives for DHM’s newly established focus service and extended-stay division. With more than 20 years of industry expertise, his promotion aligns with the incorporation of the Fairfax SpringHill Suites and Element Melbourne Oceanfront properties into the company’s focus service division. Before this, he was a regional director of operations and general manager at DHM.
In Diaz’s newly defined role, he will concentrate on long-term planning and strategic growth initiatives. Having previously served as COO since the company’s foundation in 1998, he has managed Driftwood’s global hotel portfolio and organizational structure, overseeing operations for more than 100 hotels, including full-service properties, resorts, and select-service assets.
