Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) celebrated the opening of its 100th property in Japan today with the launch of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda. This event signifies the first introduction of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand in Asia Pacific (excluding China) in collaboration with global investment firm KKR, emphasizing Marriott’s ongoing commitment to the midscale segment.
The occasion is further enhanced by the expected launch of twelve additional Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties in Japan this year, marking Marriott’s entry into prominent cities such as Morioka and Kanazawa. With KKR’s partnership, this expansion initiative aims to convert 14 properties into the brand by early 2025, contributing over 3,600 rooms to Marriott’s expanding portfolio across key destinations, including Hakodate, Utsunomiya, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Hakata.
Four Points Flex by Sheraton hotels are strategically located to ensure easy access to public transport and city centers, providing a friendly and efficient experience for both business and leisure travelers. Aimed at value-conscious consumers, the brand emphasizes core principles of reliability, simplicity, and value, offering clean and comfortable rooms with essential amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi, and local breakfast options.
