Nightjar, the legendary speakeasy in East London, has unveiled its latest cocktail menu, ‘Recalling,’ featuring a range of bold new flavors that highlight contemporary ingredients.
The Nightjar team is refreshing their signature style while upholding their commitment to excellence, now with a heightened emphasis on premium ingredients and exotic flavors. This refined approach aims to minimize waste and highlight top-quality produce, marking a new chapter in cocktail creativity.
Staying true to the classic Nightjar format, the new menu includes 28 cocktails organized into four distinct sections, which celebrate the rich history of cocktails from the Pre-Prohibition era through Prohibition and the Post-War period, culminating in present-day Nightjar Signatures.
In the Pre-Prohibition category, you’ll find the Dizzy Sour, a vibrant and effervescent mix crafted from Monkey Shoulder, La Hechicera Reserva, and Endorphine rum, complemented by Empirical Spirits Symphony, shiso leaves, and Albarino grape cordial, all topped with a vegan strawberry yogurt crust. This cocktail pays homage to the golden age inspired by the great pioneers of mixology, Jerry Thomas and Harry Johnson.
The Prohibition section features Olivette, which delivers savory, smoky, and citrus notes reminiscent of the 1920s but with a contemporary Nightjar touch. It combines Edinburgh gin, Montelobos mezcal, Aperol, Rhubarb & Gentian bitters, and is uniquely fat-washed with olive oil.
In the Post-War category, the Godfather cocktail presents a nutty, aromatic complexity through a blend of Macallan 15-year-old Scotch, Doragrossa Chinotto liqueur, Nightjar almond, Riesling Eau-de-Vie, Somerset Ice Cider, and Ontario Ice Wine Loose Leaf, showcasing exceptional quality ingredients.
Lastly, the Nightjar Classics feature original creations from the team, including house-infused liqueurs and bitters. One standout, Pan y Tomate, presents a savory, umami-rich blend featuring Altamura vodka, BBQ tomato, cherry tomato water, and a basil & mascarpone fat wash, alongside an intriguingly composed Bloody Mary with a touch of Nightjar shimmer.
