Nestled in the vibrant Leicester Square, The Hippodrome Casino London stands out as the largest entertainment and casino venue in the UK. Within its walls is the renowned Heliot Steakhouse, offering diners an engaging view of the bustling casino floor, highlighted by stunning central light fixtures. The atmosphere is a blend of relaxation and sophistication, featuring plush black booths, elegant walnut tables, soft background music, and a bar that overlooks the casino floor. Whether you’re after a brunch, a refined dinner, or a bite to eat post-Magic Mike performance, Heliot Steakhouse is an exceptional choice.
The steakhouse features an enticing brunch and dinner menu. Brunch offerings include egg royale, pancakes, hearty breakfasts, fresh salads, and burgers, but the highlight is undoubtedly their steaks. I chose the USDA premium fillet, expertly aged for optimal tenderness and flavor, cooked medium rare and garnished with a delightful lobster garlic tail. Every bite of the steak was divine, literally melting in my mouth, while the lobster added a deliciously sweet touch, perfectly complementing the meat. You can customize each steak to suit your preferences, choosing from various toppings and sauces such as peppercorn, chimichurri, grilled onions, forest mushrooms with garlic butter, roast bone marrow, red wine jus, and crispy kale.
For sides, I selected creamy spinach and mac and cheese, which featured a crunchy, cheesy topping encasing a velvety interior, perfectly matching my steak. The side options are extensive, including truffle mac and cheese, chunky fries, feta salad, and mashed potatoes.
To conclude my meal, I took the waitress’s recommendation and ordered the red velvet cake, adorned with forest blueberries and blackberries nestled in creamy mascarpone—an absolute delight. I paired this with a glass of Miraval Provence Rosé, which was smooth, light, and refreshing, the perfect complement to my steak. The service was exemplary, with attentive staff and incredible food, while the adjoining casino provided captivating entertainment that enhanced the entire experience. Heliot Steakhouse rightfully deserves its title as the best Casino Restaurant for three consecutive years at the British Casino Awards, and I wholeheartedly recommend dining here.
